To make this official, this is a notice to inform all JAMB and WAEC candidates who will be sitting for the upcoming JAMB examination that JAMB subject combination for Public Administration has been released by the management of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Keep in mind that the JAMB subject combinations as well as the o level (WAEC) requirements mentioned on this post are only meant for Public Administration under the faculty of Social and Management Sciences.

JAMB Subject Combination For Public Administration

The required JAMB subject subject combination for Public Administration are:

Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIBEN (for Public Administration) requires Government/History, one Social Science subject and any other subject. (iv) LAUTECH requires third subject from Physics, Chemistry or Biology/Agric. Science

(ii) UNICAL requires Government, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Accounting and Commerce.

(iii) LASU:
(a) For Business Administration requires one of Commerce, Geography or Government.
(b) For Insurance requires one of Geography, Commerce, Business Methods or Statistics.
(c) For Public Administration requires Government as the other subject.

(iv) AUE requires five credit passes to English Language, Mathematics and any threes from Economics, Geography, Commerce, Government, Accounts and Book-Keeping at not more than two sittings.

(v) UMYUK requires for Public Administration Government or History.

(vi) UMYUK for Business Administration – Same as in Economics.

(vii) OOU accepts Mathematics/Economics and any two other Social Science subjects.

(viii) BAYERO requires Government or History plus two other Social Science subjects.

(ix) UNIABUJA for Public Administration requires Mathematics, Government, and any other Social Science subject.

WAEC (O Level) Subject Requirements For Public Administration

The list of compulsory WAEC subjects required for Public Administration under the faculty of are as follows:

Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) LASU:
(a) For Accounting it requires other two relevant subjects could be from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, office Practice and Secretarial duties.
(b) For Public Administration if requires ‘O’ Level credit to include English Language, Mathematics, Government, Economics and any one of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, office Practice and Secretariat Studies.
(c) For Business Administration it requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics plus any three of Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Government and Geography.
(d) For Insurance, it requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any two of Accounting, Business Method, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics.
(e) For Marketing, it requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any three of Business Method, Commerce, Book Keeping and Economics.

(ii) UNICAL requires five credit including English Language and Government and at least a Pass in Mathematics. No candidates will be considered without a credit in English Language.

(iii) GO requires Five SSCE credit passes in not more than two sittings in subjects which include English Language, Mathematics and Economics.

(iv) REDEEMER’S requires Five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects in Social Sciences.

(v) CRAWFORD requires for Business Administration five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English, Economics, Mathematics and at least 2 from Business Methods, Accounting, Commerce, Geography and Government

(vi) AAU requires five credit passes including English, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History and any other subject. AAU can accept History/Government. AAU also accepts Mathematics

(vii) UNICAL requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two of Arts or Social Science subjects.

(viii) GO accepts
(a) For Business Administration and Marketing credit pass in Commerce in lieu of Economics.
(b) For Public Administration five SSCE credit passes in English, Mathematics, Government or History or Commerce and two other subjects.

(ix) UMYUK accepts
(a) Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
(b) For Business Administration, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any two Social Science subjects.
(c) For Public Administration, five credit passes or its equivalent in English, Mathematics, Government or History and any other two subjects from Arts or Social Science in not more than two sittings.

(x) KSU for Public Administration five SSCE credit passes in English, Mathematics, Government, Economics and any other Arts or Social Science subject.

(xi) UNIBEN (for Insurance) – A pass in Further Mathematics is an advantage.

(xii) UNIBEN (for marketing) requires five credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other subjects at not more than two sittings

(xiii) UNIABUJA for Public Administration requires five Credit Passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Government or History, Economics or Commerce and any other relevant subjects.

(xiv) BABCOCK – A pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit pass in Accounting or Commerce.
